Clarice Beckett
The grave of the noted artist, Clarice Beckett was in a sad and neglected state. With the support of family descendants, the Friends were able to restore the grave with a Federal Government grant as part of the Commemorating Eminent Australians program.

Ernest William (Bud) Copeland
Funded by the Collingwood Club Foundation, the grave of the man behind the famed Copeland Trophy was restored after the Friends approached the Collingwood Football Club. The project was assisted by the Victoria Park Heritage Committee.

William (Dub) and Emma Rose
The firm of W. D. Rose & Son was a household name, synonymous with civic mindedness. Not only was the decorative vase broken from its base, but the lettering on the inscription difficult to read. With the generous funding of the Rose family descendants, the Friends were able to facilitate the restoration of the grave. We acknowedge the support of W. D. Rose Funerals, Cheltenham.

Adeline Hazel Wilson and family
The grave of murdered schoolgirl Adeline Hazel Wilson was restored. A new bronze plaque was commissioned acknowledging her siblings Frank, Siley and Percy together with a historic marker. The project was funded by the Friends and Wilson family descendants. We acknowedge the support of W. D. Rose Funerals, Cheltenham.

Ernest Stephens
A tree adjacent to the Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery dislodged during a storm in the summer of 2007-08 and damaged a number of graves including a veteran of the Great War, Ernest Stephens. After years of attempts to bring the grave to the attention of the Office of Australian War Graves, a replacement monument was erected to a grateful family who knew little of their grandfather.

Scantlebury Brown family grave
The subject of our first historic marker back in September 2009, the Friends facilitated the restoration of the grave of the Scantlebury Brown family, a project which was completed in January 2013 thanks to a generous grant from the Federal Government.
The Vera Scantlebury Brown, restoring the grave of a pioneering Medical Practitioner is supported through funding from the Australian Government's Your Community Heritage Program.

John Henry Smith and Walkling family
The Friends facilitated the restoration of the Walkling grave where John Henry Smith is buried, one of just five known African-American veterans of the US Civil War (1861-65) in Australia. The grave also includes a bronze plaque supplied by the US Veterans' Department that formally recognises Smith's military service. We acknowedge the support of W. D. Rose Funerals, Cheltenham as well as the generosity of the Walkling family descendants, The Shenandoahs Crew Australia Inc and the Civil War Rountable Australia.

Our Aims
The aim of the Friends of Cheltenham and Regional Cemeteries Inc.
- To raise awareness by promoting the conservation and appreciation of the Cheltenham and Regional Cemeteries as places of local, state and national importance;
- To actively research and preserve the history of the Cheltenham and Regional Cemeteries;
- To collate, share and publish stories of persons interred in the Cheltenham and Regional Cemeteries;
- To facilitate the restoration of monuments through close links with interested organizations, descendants and other stake holders
- To do all such other things as are conducive or incidental to the attainment of the above purposes or any of them.
